This role is an entry level Nuclear Pharmacy Technician position within Cardinal Health. Under the immediate direction of a qualified licensed Staff Pharmacist, this role will be trained to draw, dispense, and package radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with the regulations of the State Board of Pharmacy. This role holds the responsibility for preparing prescriptions labels approved by pharmacists, drawing doses, performing quality assurance testing, maintaining inventory, receiving/documenting/storing pharmaceuticals, performing general lab and facility clean up, assisting and/or performing blood cell product labeling, making product deliveries as needed and performing administrative tasks (maintenance of daily records, preparation of receipts, report preparation, and maintenance of billing records). After completing a 90 day probationary period for evaluation, you will be enrolled in our Nuclear Pharmacy Technician (NPT) training program. This will entail completing 10 self-study modules, under the supervision of a pharmacist that will cover such topics as radiopharmaceutical drugs, health physics, radiation safety, decay calculations, and Department of Transportation (DOT) labeling. Upon completion, you will then be enrolled in the next available NPT training class conducted on site at our corporate headquarters in Dublin (Columbus), OH. This weeklong class will cover in greater detail all the material that was previously studied through the self study modules. With successful of the class and an exam at the end of the week, you will have earned your certification as a Nuclear Pharmacy Technician. We are looking for candidates with lab/pharmacy knowledge. Ideally this would be someone who currently has or working towards achieving a Pharmacy Technician license and/or National Pharmacy Technician certificate. Candidate must have the ability to lift 55 lbs, have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Candidate must have strong communication and customer service skills.
