Member Engagement Chair

The Membership Engagement (Social) Chair is responsible for coordinating with the members, Membership, Programming, and Event Planning committees to plan and execute social events for NBMBAA Columbus Chapter.  The chapter would like to participate in a minimum of six (6) and a maximum of fifteen (15) events throughout the year, with at least two events being considered major.  A major event is defined as requiring a budget of $1,500 and/or attendance of 100 or more.

Specific Duties

  • Helps to create and maintain a positive interactive environment for members, allowing them the opportunity to network in social and/or family friendly settings.  Promotes a general sense of community by organizing both major and minor events.
  • Searches out opportunities to provide interactive and enjoyable chapter sponsored activities. This will normally require involvement with private, not-for-profit, and professional firms. 
  • Searches out co-sponsored, or preplanned activities that chapter members can participate in.

·         Makes recommendations and decisions about the community, service, social, and professional association partnerships the organization engages in.

 

·         Works with selected organizations to synchronize calendars when and where possible.

  • In collaboration with the Membership and Programming Chairs, drafts an annual program of social activities and present it to the Executive Board for approval.  Also proposes budget.
  • Works with the Event Planning and Marketing/Communication Teams to plan, advertise, and execute the approved social programs. 
  • Forms committees and/or groups to help identify, plan, and coordinate activities.  Holds regular committee meetings.  Participates in monthly Board of Directors meetings.
  • Team, in conjunction with Membership, acts as the chapter’s primary representative at social events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the president.
